The Openli Community is inviting you to a timely masterclass with Tim Van Canneyt, Partner and Co-Head of Fieldfisher’s Technology & Data Group in Brussels, to help us unpack what’s happening on the EU privacy and regulation front.

There’s a lot of noise right now:

  • Is the GDPR being rolled back or weakened?

  • Are the EU institutions shifting towards deregulation?

  • What new laws and frameworks are on the way - and how will they affect in-house legal and privacy teams?

In this session, Tim will walk us through the big debates taking place in Brussels and help us make sense of where EU privacy regulation is heading next. From political signals to legislative proposals, we’ll zoom in on what matters and what’s just noise.

We’ll cover:

  • The current status of the GDPR and discussions around its future

  • Signs of deregulation – and what they really mean

  • Upcoming laws that privacy teams should have on their radar

  • How to prepare for regulatory change without overreacting

Whether you work hands-on with compliance or help shape company strategy, this session will give you a clear view of what’s going on – and what to expect after the summer break.
