Planday is a Danish company that offers a software solution for managing employee schedules and communication.
We spoke with Mads Larsen, Planday's Director of Privacy and Info Sec, about the work involved with managing a global platform from a small legal team's perspective.
And about how using Openli Privacy Hub has made it much easier for Mads to keep track of Planday's data processors, the agreements in place with each vendor, and how to navigate international privacy regulations better.
Mads Larsen used to be part of a large team of 20 lawyers. Since moving to Planday, however, the headcount has decreased significantly.
"It's kind of a different game here, because I have to rely on software to help me through my daily work because I don't have that many hands available," Mads explains. It had also become a strain on the team to keep track of and reach out to their existing vendors -and then there's the global aspect of Planday's business. Because Planday operates all around the world, they have to take different countries' and regions' privacy policies into account.
Quite the task for a small team. And that's why Planday started using Openli.
Mads believes that using Openli has had a significant impact on the way he works with privacy at Planday; "I can easily access all the necessary information about a vendor in one place," he says, and he notes that the platform's plug-and-play approach makes it very easy to onboard new vendors.
Besides saving the team a lot of time, it has also allowed him to better serve Planday's customers, who may have different compliance requirements depending on their location.
In the future, Mads plans to onboard more employees at Planday to use Openli and expand its use to support the full business side of the company.
We think that's a great idea that Planday as a whole will benefit from.
